one of the eyes must be as they say"bossing foward" due to his head plagio. My son had a similar situation but I have noticed some improvement with banding. This is one of the issues most of our kids have faced, the eyes moving one being lower than the other, the ears not being alined and the forehead coming noticably foward. hi lisa-(sorry about calling you tina...) my ds's right eye was also the smaller one and that is where is head was flat-back right quadrant. my son also has tort, which has been the major reason why his head was flat-always leaned to that side. with that being said, there are connections b/t the smaller eye and the plagiocephaly. in my son's case, due to the tort/tilt to the right, that caused the plagio-then from what i understand, the fact that his whole head symmetry was off can affect the symmetry of their faces. my ds's whole face on the right was "smaller"-it was thinner and almost had to round out in the chin area-thats the only way i can describe it-the way they made his helmet, it allowed for more growth in that area too-it has worked wonders. also, as the head rounds out, the ears go back into alignment. my orthotist recommended looking at his face in a mirror to see the true assym and to see the mprovements-the 2-d image in the mirror gives a better picture. keep me posted-i am in johnston ri! He leeann! Thanks for the info on the smaller eye thing. It does make sense that he right eye would look smaller than than his left given that that the right is where he is assym. Oh! I know ston, RI. I graduated from Providence College and so RI was my old stopping ground! Small world! My sons left eye also appeared a bit smaller than his right due to the plagio and brachy he had. He is graduating from his Doc Band on Thursday (his 2nd one) and we're done for good and his facial features are just perfect now!
