Guest guest
We went Tuesday and Had Garrett's head scanned at my local Hanger facility. The staff is great very nice and easy to talk to. He has a 17mm assemetry. I got a call from them today after they talked to Aetna and it will take 2-12 weeks for them to approve his helmet and then it takes 5-7 days to make the band. I can not believe that they can put this off for nearly 3 months. By then he'll be almost a year old and need to be scanned again. Any suggestions on what to do to get the insurance company moving faster? Guest guest
Anything over 2 weeks and he will need to be scanned again per industry standerds. As far as ins. Call them and tell them that the sooner a band is started the better chances are for correction and if they delay his treatment then they are looking at actually paying for 2 bands and not just one. Or you could appeal to thier compasionate side and tell them that he has a better chance at correction the sooner he starts treatment. Find out if they have an expedite process. Guest guest
We have Anthem and out hanger facility told us it would take up to 10 days for insurance to reply. I called Hanger on the 9th day and they said they were just getting ready to call our insurance. They called us later that day to say we were approved. Maybe you can ask Hanger to call and check up on your insurance after a week or so? And just stay on them!! I wish I could be of more help! Guest guest
I have Aetna also and I am still waiting for a reimbursment for the helmet claim I placed in June. I decided to pay for the helmet out of pocket and then get reimbursed because I did not want to waste crucial time waiting for Aetna. If possible, I would pay out of pocket and then put in the claim to get reimbursed, rather than waiting for a preapproval because there is a good chance that it will be longer than 2 weeks and more along the lines of 12 if not longer. I was told that my claim would take 30-40 days to process and it has already been over 90 days. candice, nylddelsenora <lddelsenora@...> wrote: We went Tuesday and Had Garrett's head scanned at my local Hanger facility.
