Guest guest Posted March 26, 2001 Report Share Posted March 26, 2001 , My doctor told me the same thing so I thought I would go on the Atkins Diet for the next four weeks. My surgeon said that the week before the surgery I should be on a low fat diet to reduce the fatty condition of the liver. Any idea if the Atkins diet which allows all the fat you want will still be a problem for the liver if I are losing weight? (obviously I should talk to my doc, huh? lol) Barbi dr herron said he had one patient who really went to town with last suppers and he had to close them back up without operating because the liver had gotten to big. that would really suck! if i woke up with a big hole in me and no switch i don't know what i'd do. and also the first place you lose is the liver, which would make surgery easier. dr herron said even losing two or three pounds would be helpful pre op __________________________________________________ Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
