Guest guest
Hi, Welcome to the group. It's really common in the beginning of treatment to need an adjustment or 3 before the " just right fit " is found. Some shifting is normal. You really should mention your concerns to your ortho. An adjustment is probably needed. Keep us posted. -- In Plagiocephaly , " connornmike " <princesskimmey@...> wrote: > > Hi, my son got his Doc Band on July 5th and for the first week did > great. Guest guest
Hello. Does he have any red spots where it's bothering him that don't go away after an hour? My son just got his STARband and something similar happened. I felt like I had to keep rotating it a bit so his eye and opposite ear wouldn't get pinched. But by the time he began wearing it for 23 hours/day, when we removed it, he had a red mark on his check that didn't even completely go away overnight. (We kept the helmet off since it didn't go away after three hours.) The next day we went to the ortho and he adjusted it to fit better and actually cut his one ear hole larger. I still find myself trying to rotate it sometimes. But it definitely fits better now, and he doesn't have any major red spots. My ortho told me that some movement is fine. I'd maybe call and talk to your clinition to see if he/she thinks it needs another adjustment before your next scheduled appointment. > > Hi, my son got his Doc Band on July 5th and for the first week did > great. Guest guest
My son has been in his DOC bad for 8 weeks. His helmet shifts down towards his eyes when he crawls. My clinition told me to tighten it so it won't shift. So far that has worked well and we have seen great correction so far! > > Hi, my son got his Doc Band on July 5th and for the first week did > great. Guest guest
Can you get back in and show them the shifting that you are talking about? Like said some shifting is really normal and will get less as he grows into his band, but I would def have it checked out. I called Cranial Tech today and we are going tomorrow morning just for her to make sure it fits okay! > > > > Hi, my son got his Doc Band on July 5th and for the first week did > > great. They also had to make some adjustments near his left ear because it was pinching there. I spoke to the clinition today and I'm going to bring him in just to be sure. I'll let you know how it goes. So far it hasn't worked. When I spoke with her today, she said it's probably fine but to come in to be sure.
