Guest guest
Hi Carmela, I'm pretty sure that Dr. Linder is a research doc and I am guessing that he doesn't treat patients, RP or otherwise. His expertise lies in the field of detecting infections, which can be useful to the other docs. I will double check this with my friend, Ray Barrett....met him in CA at Dr. Franco's conference, although I don't think he is a patient of Dr. F. Ray has had severe RA, did really well on Minocin. After two years, he noticed that he was backsliding and researched other possibilities......and found Dr. Linder (I don't know how....Ray just has an uncanny ability to find all sorts of info :-) After having Dr. Linder do the bloodwork, Ray's particular infections were identified (can't remember which ones....mycoplasma, chylamidia, others....) and then the appropriate antibiotics were prescribed. Ray is back on track again. I'll let you know what I find out. Yes, you can send blood samples and he will do the same for you. I'm not exactly sure what Dr. Buckner does with the bloodwork....I know she is working on a research related to RP, and I'm guessing that Dr. Linder's research centers on infections in general. take care and hugs, let us know how your appointment goes....remember, we'll be there ;-) Connie H. Guest guest
Carmela, here is Ray's old post....but remember to use the new address and phone number. Connie Pathobiotek Diagnostics Inc.Houston Advanced Research Center4800 Research Forest DriveThe Woodlands, TX 77381-4142 ext. 7065 I would like to share some new information with you. After 2 years of progress on the antibiotic protocol, I had a major relapse at the beginnng of the summer. It seemed like minocin stopped working. ACTIONS TAKEN:1-I sent a blood sample to Dr Linder at Texas A & M University. For a minimum $40 donation he will do a one month bacterial culture of the sample. Dr Linder sent a 3 page report to my MD, loaded with helpful information. For example, a high count of unique strains of methylobacterium, 3 antibiotics effective, 2 antibiotics partially effective, 2 antibotics that stimulated their growth, 2 antibiotics that they are resistant to, 2 nutritional tests that showed that niacin and cysteine stimulated their growth, and other useful suggestions. Enclosed is the URL for Dr Linder's site: http://www.sky.net/~dporter/MSCFSABX.htm His assistant can send you a test kit: Glenda Fortner, ext. 300 or 303 pathglin@... Note: the lab drawing the sample has to do some processing before shipment. That cost me $50. It is important that the sample be kept refrigerated at all times.2-To help find the source of the infection I contacted a local MD who was listed on the enclosed doctor list: http://www.co-cure.org/Good-Doc.htm His name is Dr Tufft. He told me he is seeing a lot of people with hidden infections, often in the area of the jaw. He ordered blood tests, a bone scan, and special xrays of the jaw. The bone scan showed an infection in the left temporal mandibular joint area, and I'am now taking 2 different antobiotics along with an anti-yeast program. CONCLUSION: As has often said, it is often necessary to personalize the antibiotic protocol. While this can be done on a trial and error basis, it is best to have some scientific data to support your actions. Dr Linder and Dr Tufft are excellent resources for this data. Dr Franco has stressed the importance of buiding effective immune system for sucess with the antibiotic protocol.
