I to had a problem with getting her to return calls. When I finally did talk to her-in person in her office, I asked her why she didnt return my calls. She said she wasent even told I called and proceded to call Hadieal (the girl that works for her) in and she asked "Did Ms.Black call me?" Hadieal said "um um yes". Dr.Gupta was very upset and then apolized to me several times. I dont think she gets the messages unless the parents throw a fit. I have not had a problem since, she calls me back within about 20 minutes.

Re:Dr.Gupta

About Dr.Gupta, Abby see's her, I really like her. However I will warn you though that her office staff is not always compatent or polite for that matter. I have talked to Dr.Gupta about this in the past and I know she said something because they have been ALOT nicer to me. If they are rude to you then mention it to Dr.Gupta, I know that its added stress-hopefully you wont have a bad experiance. Dr.Gupta was really good with Abby and fortunatly we havent had to see her in a few months, no seizure activity. Re:Dr.Gupta

Hi,My son saw Dr. Gupta about 1.5 years ago. She may be good, but I got very upset when my son was having MAJOR melt downs right before christmas and it took her 4 days (and my bugging her staff every few hours) to finally get a hold of her. I was very worried about him furting himseldf as well as me and my husband. Yes, I know that she, as well as most doctors, are busy, but I let her do this 3 other times(and this was in a few short months when she told me what time and date to call and I couldnt get a hold of her still!!) If a doctor is too busy to return a call either that day or the next day, then the doctor isnt for me and my family. After her, I saw another doctor who returned my call within 3 to 4 hours EACH and EVERYTIME, with out me requesting this or telling him the issues I had with Dr. Gupta. Sorry to provide negative info, but I wanted to aleast warn you about my issues with her. Maybe she has changed her schedule to allow her to return calls in a more timely mannor. I am not sure.PamelaSupport Everyday Miracles by shopping online at IGIVE.COM, where a portion of every purchase is donated to this support network. The call may be an important call, and she has an unconcerned and irresponsible receptionist working for her! This is not right and parents shouldn't have to get their b/p's raised and almost have a stroke, in effort to get the doctor to make her employee's give her the messages. No, I don't want this as my daughter's doctor and I was seriously considering it. I have enough hassles in my life.

OK, heres the same question that i asked Deb. How is this Dr Trock with being open minded to alternatives to medication? And also, if i would call with a non emergency question, but i felt i would prefer to speak to the doctor himself, would they easily take down my name and have the doctor call me, or would they insist that the question must be only asked through the office staff? I like Chugani out of Children's Hospital. He is supposed to be very good with seizure issues. He has offices in Southfield, Detroit, and another location.

I have some concerns about Dr Chugani as well. He does seem to know his stuff-that's true. But i had an experience where i felt he was taking advantage of us big time. He was doing research in some drug that he felt might be very helpful in autism. He needed a group of kids to get a PET scan for his study. He enticed (sp?) us to join this study by making it sound like this drug was very promising and may be approved in near future if he could prove his point with his study. He also gave me the impression that if we joined the study he would keep us up to date on his research etc. So we signed our son up. He got the PET scan, and he was sedated for it. The sedation made him really sick when he came home. The office finally called with my his results. I don't remember what they were. We had a house fire and lost alot of stuff. The point is that my son's test results were like neither here nor there- like nothing specific that they could say any medication would help, and that was the last we ever heard from this Dr Chugani! I think he was making his drug sound more promising than it really was, and made it sound like things would happen sooner than he really knew it would, because he was trying to lure on into his study. I don't like this way of deaing with people. But as long as you know that this is the type of thing he can do, you can guard yourself from falling into this kind of trap, and use him for his knowledge etc. Rivky
