I'm sure most of us HAVE lost weight in the past - and yo yo'd back upwards (even gaining more weight with each swing upwards). It's a chronic condition and losing 10 lbs on a last ditch diet isn't any indication that it will stay off, that the rest will come off -- certainly not any permanant solution. all the best, laparoscopic BPD/DS with gallbladder removal Dr. Gagner/Dr. Quinn assisting/Mt. Guest guest
Last week was the follow-up visit and while I had lost 6 lbs and my blood sugar count was 97 (I'm Type 2 diabetic) the bloodwork showed my cholesterol was now 236, for the first time in my life. Now he wants me to go on a 1500 calorie diabetic/low cholesterol diet and take Zocor. Why is your dr so against the surgery? I dont get that. If you have dieted before...why will this time be any different. Do you need a referral? i DON'T on my insurance although I got one just to improve the odds. I think its silly personally...you've done your homework...know yourself and the limits you have and don't have. Why not trust your judgement? *~AJ~* BMI 58? Guest guest
Yes, I recall this. It is a no win situation. Any doc who wants you to diet really fails to comprehend the entire issue of MO. You did your month.
