Guest guest
Is a 2 day Psych Eval the norm for most? (That seems a bid overboard when a simple interview would do.) How many have had just an interview and how many had to take a test (like the MMPI)or more than one tests? This seems like a good way for unscrupulous evaluators to charge for more than what's necessary out of ignorance or greed. So it might be good for us to know ahead of time whats the norm that others experienced for this evaluation so we can ask what to expect and let them know what we expect. Remember, we hire thier services, we should take advantage of choosing when possible if we feel what they require is outside the norm. Guest guest
Dr. Hartman is the psych consult for most Rabkin/Jossart patients. He does a brief interview, asks about your support options, your concerns about surgery. You take a computer based series of tests, lasting maybe 30 minutes. I found most of the questions pretty funny, especially the ones like " have you ever wanted to hurt your doctor, " " do you believe your doctor knows more than other people " " have you ever wanted to not pay your doctor for his services " . He uses the answers to generate a scale of normalcy in comparison to other patients, i.e., what is your level of depression, creativity, etc., and then compares that to what you should expect post-op. I thought the whole thing was enjoyable, and Dr. Hartman is just an absolutely wonderful guy. Kate

Guest guest
2 day psych eval??? I think it was in response to someone talking about the 2 days for Dr . My understanding of those 2 days is actually that he (Dr. Poole) wants u to come in one day and take tests...which take hours...(from what the gal on the phone told me when I originally set it up) and then the next day you have a 1 hour appt to talk with him. His requirement is that it's on different days. *~AJ~* BMI 58?
