Guest guest
Hello, my name is Kimra, and I just joined. I just started WW, and this is my second week. I have to tell you that I really love it. I have already started to lose weight, and have never eaten so much. I can't go to meetings, and can't afford to join on line, but I have put myself on 20 points a day and add for exercise. I am currently 135, and have struggled with my weight all my life. After the birth of my 2nd daughter I was u pto nearly 200, and have gotten that off, but I want to look good, I am tired of settling for 20 to 30 lbs overweight. I thnk this could be it for me. I am a runner and am currently training for a half marathon in November in Dallas. I am also a part of the Courage To Start runners list. I run 3 days a week, and do crosstraining 3 days a week in preparation for my half. I have two beautiful daughters almost 5 and almost 2, that I push in a double jogging stroller for my runs, and pull in a biek trailer on my bike days. We live in Austin TX, and have for 5 years. I am excited about being on a list, and am hoping you guys can help me with tips, and ways to make this work for me. Thanks for lending an "ear" while I introduce myself. Guest guest
Great to hear from you. Are you still running? What's going on? I just joined WW and really like it. I have a points bracelet that I made, and it is really helping me keep track. I love this system, because I have energy on it and can run. It's not like Atkins where you lose weight, but don’t' have the energy to move. Have you lost on it? Guest guest
Well, Kimra---I will certainly look on eBay for your bracelets! I started back on WW 3 weeks ago. To date I have lost 6 lbs. I was on WW several years ago when it was the exchange program. I got to my goal weight (30 lbs) in 3 months and kept it off for years!! But, age and laziness *lol* caught up with me and here I am again. This time, however, I have almost 50 lbs to loose!!! But THIS time I have this awesome group of people to support me!! It's even better to going to my meeting! *smile* cindy in nc
Guest guest
I just make beaded bracelets, usually on gold wire with wooden beads. I made mine with a spring clasp, and a lobster clasp to move the charm around easily. It has really helped me lose the weight. I guess I am a visual person, but when I am out of beads, I quit eating. Plus I always forget to write my points down so it really has helped me keep track. I made a couple for myself so I can change when I get bored with the colors. I love it, and have started selling them on eBay because I have had a few requests from friends to make some from them. As a stay at home mom, I am trying to start a small home business, and hopefully it will wrok out. Either way, I love mine, and thanks for your reply. I always appreciate someone taking an interest in me on a new list. How long have you been on it? How much have you lost? Guest guest
Kimra, I was doing great on the running, but I wasn't losing weight. And now I know that I was eating way too much. The thing I like about WW is it's teaching me what healthy portion sizes are and what kinds of foods you should be eating. The reason why I wasn't losing weight with 60 minutes of excercise 4 times a week was because I was eating SO MUCH more. Now I see IT! I still run, but I have not been building on my mileage at all. So, I'm trying to build one habit at a time. First, learn to eat correctly and then concentrate on excercise more. I've been on the program for 4 weeks and have lost 6.4LBS. When I reach my first goal then I'm going to start training for my first 5K! It's knowing there's another runner on this group! Guest guest
I am so glad you hav elost weight. What an accomplishment. As far as running, I wouldn't worry about mileage at all. I wouldn't even measure yoru runs, I would do it by minutes. Just try to keep moving forward for a certain amount of time, running, jogging, walking, whatever, just keep moving forward. Training for a first race is awesome. I am training for my first half in Nov, and am VERY nervous. I did my first race two Februarys ago. My time was horrible, I was almost last, but I didn't care. I still run about 15 minute miles, so I am very slow. RIght now, I just want to lose some weight, and I am very excited to be on WW. Please keep me posted. Where are you? I am in Austin, TX. Guest guest
Thanks, I have never seen these pria bars I will have to go on a search! By the way...LOVE the Tweety bird! Kim This has probably already been answered but I buy the Pria Bars either at Walmart or SAMS. They are cheaper at SAMS because you get a big box in variety. They seem to have less points than any other bar I have found and they are almost like getting treated to a candy bar! Hope you find them in your area. (I think there about five different flavors.) If we could just put in the snippet of a post that we are replying to it would be really helpful! Thanks. Sharon ----Original Message Follows---- From: cndarella@...
