I saw someone post about bows a while ago, but most people use

stickers. Bows do look cute. I'm sure my daughter would have eaten

them - but all kids are different. I still can't put anything in her

hair because she pulls it out in 2 minutes - and she has wild hair

that really needs some bows :-)

We are decorating our daughter's band with bows. We have an

assortment of colors to match every outfit with velcro backing. She

hasn't even touched the band, much less the bows so we aren't

worried about her pulling them off (and we remove when she is

sleeping). It really does look cute and girly!!!

My daughter just got her helmet last week and I was planning to do

the same thing with the velcro and bows - and here I thought I had a

great new idea! :-) What did you use to glue the velcro on? Just

superglue? I was also thinking another option would be to put a

ribbon " loop " on the helmet that I could just slide the bow clips

through...glad to hear someone else has tried it and it has worked!

I was thinking of doing this, I am sure it looks super cute! I was going

through bow

withdraws the first week my daughter had the band until I realized I still can

put a bow in

her hair with the DOC Band. She was 5 month old and born with tons of hair so I

could

still do the Pebbles hair style. I see nothing wrong with adding the bow, just

taking the

same precausion as you would if you put it in her hair. You go girl! :)

That's a really cute idea. My daughter was also born with a ton of

hair and it sticks straight up out of the top of the helmet. I

didn't even think to try putting a bow in it pebbles style.

I think that is a good point: take the same precautions as you would

with any bow in the hair. I guess I had kindof gotten the vibes from

some people here and there that " Ooo you could kill your kid if she

gets a hold of that! " And, yes, any child could choke on their bow,

but it really isn't any more of a threat than any other child! We have

to take the same precautions plus just checking the velcro as we check

the rest of its parts.

My friend wants to start a " bow business " for the helmets. She asked

our orthotist if she could leave business cards at the office for

mothers who might be interested. I think your comment kind of puts

things into perspective. I am going to encourage her to do it!

So how does one add this decorating idea to the " decorating " file?
