We were a whole lot higher than that before I deleted a couple of the photo folders that I had on there. I don't think that you maxed anything out when you were trying to add more. Guest guest
I personally dont see the need for the pictures. Here again, these models are not experiencing what these women are experiencing, and they are aesthetically without issue. I think that this is just a cover to get these pictures in here. I would rather see real women who are really going through something very real to them. I dont see how just because they are given a caption like " woman finds a lump " that these pictures have anything to do with breast cancer. Am I wrong? Does anyone find any comfort or connection to these pictures? The women on this site are going through huge self esteem issues and self validation as women. Their bodies have gone through horrendous methods to save their lives, and they should be respected as women, not as bodies. No I am not a prude, I just don't see how these pictures are helpful to anyone going through this. ceejer

Guest guest
Definitely not what a real woman, going through breast cancer, would look like. We don't get the benefit of the lighting! Guest guest
I am torn as what to do about these pictures. Some ladies say they are not offensive and others object. Personally to me they were not offensive to me, BUT our daughter in law is a photographer (not nudes) and I can see it from the side of a photographer as well as those finding them offensive. I suggest that anyone finding them offensive just skip over them. As they say, there are two sides to every story. Guest guest
nne, I do not find the photographs offensive, I just don't think they hit the mark as far as portraying someone going through breast cancer. I read some of the suggestions and thought they made more sense. Barb Michigan Re: Re: pictures When it looks like trouble, smells like trouble and feels like trouble, girls always go with your gut. Guest guest
if the pictures *are* offensive, it's only because they so completely and utterly deny our reality. *That's* offensive to me... jmho marisa > > nne, > I do not find the photographs offensive, I just don't think they hit the mark as far as portraying someone going through breast cancer. Guest guest
As far as the pictures go, in a general context, no they are not offensive. In the context of breast cancer, I think they are an insult, Also, it is correct, the best way to handle a situation like this is to just not look. I am a huge proponent of non censorship. As I have said before, I am HIV Positive. In the June 11, 2001 issue of Newsweek, there is an extensive article about AIDS after 20 years. There are photos in the article of people infected with HIV. These are real photos and I connected with the models. I felt they were honest and truly reflected the disease. That was my only point. My husband and I suscribe to Playboy and have for many years. I have often thought, how effective it would be to have a spread on HIV+ women, shown looking sexy and beautiful. There should also be a pictoral of survivors of breast cancer, looking beautiful and sexy. Women can be beautiful and sexy, and they dont have to be 19 and a size 2. But then again, I have always been several sizes over size 2, and I am 45. All in all, the hoopla over the pictures has just made more people view them, so in retrospect, it would have been better to just not say anything. cj marisa wrote: if the pictures *are* offensive, it's only because they so completely and utterly deny our reality. *That's* offensive to me... jmho marisa > > nne, > I do not find the photographs offensive, I just don't think they hit the mark as far as portraying someone going through breast cancer.
