Guest guest
Barbara, Is he really 4 weeks old? Are his eyes open? At 4 weeks old some kittens can already eat solids... try putting some moist cat food in his mouth to get him to understand that it's food. 5-8 ml isn't too bad - will he eat more frequently if you try ? What are you giving him anyways ? Do you have kitten milk replacer over there ? If not, I can dig up a homemade recipe for it. Guest guest
Thanks, Vered, for the reassurance. I'm giving him an infant formula. His eyes are open, and two vets here think he is about four weeks, so I will see if I can get him eating some kitten food and/or baby cereal next week. And the rest of you - thanks for your patience with my completely off-topic post. Vered sounds so nice I knew she could offer reassurance, and speaking of reassurance those of you who encouraged me when I didn't lose on induction -THANKS! I went completely off program for one week after two weeks induction and then lost about 8 pounds! Needless to say, I am back on induction and planning to be more patient. Guest guest
Barbara, Are you giving him *human* infant formula ? I've done that before too, but it IS better to give special kitten formula - which you might not have, of course. Don't give him cereal - you can try pureed chicken (or even those jars of meaty baby food) or tinned cat food. Is he peeing and pooping ok? Are you massaging his belly to help the food move along? (as a feline mother would do by licking). Good luck with the kitty, do you have any other pets ? And LOTS of luck with weight loss Vered > barbara1 wrote: > > Thanks, Vered, for the reassurance.
