Guest guest
Take a deep breath and get some rest. Did I understand that you do not have someone to take you home from the hospital? Do you have someone to help you when you get home? Tomorrow is Sunday. Go to church if you normally do and make plans this evening to find a positive person to spend the day with tomorrow. It is a major surgery but a surgery that can save your life. I had skim milk day after surgery and drink 2 cups a day and it has not made me dump. Everyone's body is different. You will find what works for you. You have a whole support group on your side. Hang in there! Maybe you go give the hospital heads up and they can help you. I will say a prayer for you. It will be fine. Darlene
Guest guest
---Hon, I'm on here if you want to IM me. On AOL I'm vaangel2, that's an L and a #2. On MSN, I'm Lynn, and on Yahoo I'm lmaillard_27. Just let me know. I don't want you to feel this way. Hon, I'm not sure what you're concerned about with the milk. Are you afraid it will make you dump? I've drank it since my surgery. I love milk. Some people become lactose intolerant after surgery, but I didn't. I drink milk every day. Another group is telling me I shouldn't, but I'm a year postop and I've had it every day. I've lost 154, so it hasn't hurt me. I'm not saying drink it, I'm saying it shouldn't hurt you. IM me if you want to, or just email. Hugs to you. Lynn In GastricBypass-InfoCentral , kliberal <kliberal@y...> wrote: > > I just have to write to yall.. I hope its ok.. She also has an angel through the doctor/s support group in Atlanta that will be seeing her this week while she is in the hospital.. I told her to call me anytime, day or night, and I would be more than happy to try and answer any and all of her questions or concerns.. Thank you for making sure she has an angel Hugs,
Guest guest
K - Gosh, I feel for you hon. Do you have 's phone number? Have you talked to her? I'm sure it would help. As far as conflicting information goes, I know that is frustrating. You don't know who to listen to, who to believe. And your real live support group is there in person, so when you bring up things you heard from people online, it is easy to discredit someone who's not there in person. You are going to have to make up your mind about what's going to work best for you. Some people drink milk after surgery and do fine. Others can't do it anymore because they become lactose intolerant. And some find that the sugar, even though it is a natural sugar, is just too much for them. I'm a firm believer in sugar is sugar is sugar no matter what the type. But there are people in my WI group who believe in the natural sugar rules. So what happens if you drink milk? It won't kill you. You may feel sick from it, and if you do, then you'll give it up. If you do fine with it, then fine. If you hit a plateau down the road, giving up milk is one way to spur yourself on and get over the hump. I'm sorry that your family is not supporting you. You are not going to die. And your life will be liveable when you get rid of the excess weight. Please hang in there. If you'd like to send me your phone number privately, I'd be willing to call you today. Take care. Guest guest
Dear 'Kliveral', I'm thinking about you today and will be sending healing energy your way tomorrow!!! Please hold onto what's true for you in your heart. Only YOU know what you've gone through over the years to get to this place. Only YOU walk in your shoes. All of us here understand you and give you our best support. You're family doesn't understand because they are not you - nor are they educated about any of this. In fact since you are a member of this group - and able to hear all the wisdom people have to offer here - you stand an even better chance of succeeding and remaining healthy after surgery. You want to live and have had the pain it takes and the courage to go for what this recovery offers. If you were here we'd go have a nice long cup of protein and I'd send you off with big hugs. For now know that I - actually all of us here - really care and will keep you in our prayers. Take it day by day Dear and all is do-able. (((((((((((((((Kliveral)))))))))))))) -rose a moment to fall apart... I just have to write to yall.. I hope its ok.. I just need to talk to someone. My surgery is in two days.. its Monday. And everything is going wrong. Everything. I cant quit crying and I feel like no one understands. My family thinks this is an aweful idea. At work everyone was hugging me and crying as if they were never gonna see me again. My mom keeps saying " when you die " not if.. but when. On here I am hearing drink the shakes, and I ordered samples so that I can just after surgery. But now I am being told to drink skim milk by my angel (from the support group led by My Doctors office) she says its natural sugar and wont hurt me, wont make me dump. I am being told I am reading too much because I am worried about the *hybernation* period. Shakes? Skim milk? Natural Sugar? No ride home from the hospital? Chinese two days before op? I cant find one of my cats. I dont have anyone to eat chinese with. I want to prove everyone wrong, and prove that when done by the right surgeon WLS doesnt always mea Thanks for listening... Guest guest
Hi Christie, You're going to do great. Just remember that when you go for your surgery, it's all in God's hands when you are in the OR. He's not going to let you down. I'm sure that you kind of feel like a big ball of emotion right now. I had my RNYGB 8-12-02. Still doing great. You will too. I'm saying prayers for you.
