Hi group

Id like to ask all of you to please pray for my dauhter Cyndie and

our unborn grandchild. She was told today that its possible that

the baby might have downs syndrome.

The test wasnt positive just a very high risk. More tests needed.

She is five months pg.

Its been a tough time for her. She is trying to adjust to

being an army wife, She has no friends in tacoma. If there are

any wifes from fourt lewis who are willing to befriend my

daughter please email me private and i will give her number to you.

Thanks Debby R (wa)

Good Morning Debby,

I will uplift your family in my prayers. If it is DS, the medical field has

come a long ways with early intervention. Getting a good physical and

occupations therapist very early help. If this is the case, getting educated

now on the child's rights in the education system will be a big help.

The reason I went ahead with the bypass is because I am 46 with porphyria,

asthma and diabetes and chances of turning 60 were very slim. My weight gain

was due to a metabolic disorder. However, the biggest reason is because I have

a 15 son, J.D., with a rare muscular dystrophy mitochondria disease. This

disease is very complicated and J.D. needs very much for his mom and dad because

when J.D. is well rested, most people expect more and do not understand.

J.D. went from riding his bike to school in 2nd grade needing a wheelchair

by 7th grade for distances. He now has a power chair and does not have enough

energy to go to school for half a day. Mostly because the school did not follow

his IEP and with every one day of school, it took him a week to rebuild his

energy. He has not been to school since October and receives homebound

services. He his very intelligent which like being overweight, some people

think if you are disabled or overweight that you do not have feelings or

intelligence.

I do know when you first get the news about a serious medical condition

about your child, it is like a ton of bricks has been dropped on you. You go

through stages and each person reaches the stages at different levels. My

husband was in total denial for the 1st year with our son, he is a junior. The

medical field is advancing every day. Cyndie is very lucky to have a supportive

mother.

I will pray that the high risk does not confirm DS but if it does confirm

DS, maybe your son-in-law could investigate Army posts that has the best

hospital for this care or maybe he could get stationed at a post closer to

Cyndie's family.

Take care,

Darlene

Dear Debbie,

Prayers have been said for your daughter Cyndie. I ask that she find

friends where she is stationed and that if it be GOD's will the baby will

be fine. I also ask that she, her husband and you feel the peace of GOD

surrounding you during this trying time.

In His Love,

Ruth

Cyndie and her baby are in my prayers Debby. I read all the responses that

you received on the Grad List and am praying that the test results are as

off for Cyndie as they were for everyone there.

Ah, Debby, how sad. I don't even know what to say, other then that I'm praying

for your family. My nephew has DS, and is doing great. But, I also have some

cousins who have children with severe birth defects, and just from what I've

seen at work, the kids having surgery, it breaks your heart.

Some how God will give you the strength you need to get thru this.

Love,

Deb S.
