Guest guest
It is a very scary thing Gman. Especially in the begining. For now my advice would be to take the medications that your doctor prescribed and keep coming back to this board for support and information. Guest guest
I think I understand what you mean about going back to work. I am back at work after almost a year of being in and out of the hospital. The people at work truly do not understand. I am even thinking of leaving my job. My career is very important to me and I have worked really hard for it. It is unbelievable to me that I am even thinking of leaving, but I just do not need the stress right now. Physically I am feeling much better now, but emotionally, I am having a hard time. Weird! I am not at all an emotional person, but this does start to take a toll. Having said that, I do feel better the more that I learn. That is why this board is so helpful to me. There really are much more debilitating and life threatening diseases out their. I hold on to hope that I will learn to manage with the AF and that it will not be such an impact on my life. There are many very active people on this board and they are really an inspiration. Hang in there g_man Lori > > > > > > Hi Group, > > > > > > I have been in three hospitals the last 3 weeks for > irregular > > > heart beat.My doctors have ran all kinds of tests and have > informed me > > > i have afib. The drug im on scares me because of the side effects > but my > > > cardiologist assures me i will be taking regular scheduled blood > tests > > > and dosage will be adjusted accordingly.I have been going through > all > > > kinds of emotions like denial, fear, sadness.Finding this group has > > > lifted my spirits a little and i realize that i am not the only > person > > > going through this. > > > > > > Regards, > > > Gman > > > > > >

At least here we know it is " why us " and not " why me " . Be sure and keep track of those " regular " blood tests so you can remind the doctor when they are due. Take your rat poison for 6 weeks and if you are still irregular push for cardioversion. It is simple and painless. (can kill heart cells and cause heart failure, but we need some risk!) Wish I could tell you how to stop A-fib from returning. Just remember that the A-fib is not as life threatening as some of the drugs they try to control it with. Good Luck. Prayer helps... but don't make any " promises " like I 'll be good after this stops.. because it will stop.. and then you have to make good on those promises!
