Guest guest
Hi! Everyone. I am new to this site and need a few abbreviations explained. RNY, BTC, VBG, PCP and what does flaming mean? I was unaware there were so many different types of gastric banding surgery. Mine is a silicone ring with an expandable balloon inside which the doctor injucts fluid to either loosen or tighten the balloon. I am getting it tightened again next week as I feel the food is slipping past. You have all given me so much strength and hope. The food is still very much an issue and if I am not eating I am thinking about it or dreaming about it. No-one truly understands the obese and their relationship with food. It is a love hate one and I spend more time on it than I do with my kids and husband. Some days it is not a physical problem although at any given moment of the day it is in the back of my mind at the very least. People tell me they know how I feel because they can't go past a piece of chololate. These same people can keep a opened bar of Toblerone in their fridge for six months. I can't because the chocolate keeps on calling out my name and I don't mean in a whisper either. I have Australian size 10 friends who insist they have fat tummies and I scream out to my higher power for patience (yes I spent several years in OA. I love that organisation and it helped me a lot) because I feel they are being patronising. I did tell in no uncertain terms one friend who is lovelier than Aniston that could she please not goon about her " fat " because if she felt she was fat, what did she think of me???? It didn't stop her though!! I give up. It is amazing how easy it is to bypass the surgery to get the calories inside. Surgery makes dieting easIER not impossible as it was pre-surgery. To all those people on the emailing list who is awaiting surgery or approval. I hope it happens for you and soon.
