Guest guest
Hi everybody, Thank you all for your nice words. The day after the adjustment, it was much better already, as I could drink some water in the morning and have some consommé in the afternoon. Today, I've had a bit of smashed pumpkin and potato, and vegetable soup tonight. I just hope that it won't open too early, for it would probably mean that I have a leakage. :-( I really don't know anymore how much liquid I've got in my band now. Let me try to explain why, even though it won't be easy to do it in English. After my last adjustment, I had 6.5 cc in my band. The other day, my doctor wanted to take off all the liquid in my band to see how much it was. It was a bit more as 4 cc. He put 5 or 6 back, and then took off some again. I lost the count so I really don't know how much it was. I was so stuck with about what I had when I went there, that he probably hasn't taken off all the liquid at the beginning. That would be the best thing, as it would mean that I probably have no leakage. Need an aspirin ??? Dear Geoff, Congratulations for your weight loss !!!!!!!!! What is the OSSG cookbook you're talking about ? Dear , So sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope thast everything will turn well. My thoughts are with you and your family. Hey, you will have your operation just one day after mine ! One more reason to think of each other, then. :-) Regarding what you can eat after the operation, I can tell you that I started with pureed food after one week already, and with almost normal food after 2 - 3 weeks. I however think that you better stick to liquid and pureed food as much as possible, because it's much easier to do so after the operation or an adjustment, and because it's a very good way to lose weight. By the way, I think that you wanted to send your " hanging in " e-mail of last night to Marie, not to me. I don't mind at all. I just would like that Marie doesn't miss your nice message. Dear Marie, I wish I could find the right words to encourage you not to give up. Things will turn well, I'm sure ! Please have some confidence in the band, and above all, in yourself. Don't forget that this group is here for you. You need support. Don't hesitate to tell us your feelings, or (and I think that I'm speaking for everybody) to send us personal e-mails if you prefer. General : It has been said a few times in this group that if we were able to diet, we woudn't have had the surgery. That is completely true, BUT I think that it's not because we have the band that we don't have to diet or at least be careful of what we eat. The treat is that it's much easier to diet with the band than without, and first thing because we can eat much less without feeling hungry, and also that we eat slowlyer. It's wrong to think that the band will do everything for us. There is NO miracle ... Can I give you a tip ? Take a diet powder, like SlimFast, Herbalife, etc., and instead of mixing it with milk, use some fruit juice or even carot juice, then add half a banana, plus one kiwi, or strawberries, or raspberry, or whatever you want, then blend them all together, and drink it instead of a meal. Do it once a day, or a few times a week. It's DELICIOUS !!! I hope that I haven't been too long with my e-mail. Thank you for your patience !!! Cheers ! Marina, Switzerland 38 yo, 5'8 " , 3 adjs.
