Guest guest
Hi, everyone! My daughter, Chloe, has been wearing her Starband for almost three months now. I just put up a collage of pictures on the site. It's called " Chloe - Before and After 2 Months of Band. " It's the last picture under " Our Plagio Babies C. " If you have a second to look at the pictures, please let me know what you think. One of my friends who is also in this group said she can't see a difference in the pictures, but I definitely can. Maybe that's just because I'm the mom! I took Chloe to the orthotist the other day, and he said she might only need to wear the helmet another 4 weeks. The PT originally said she should wear it for about 9 months. So that is awesome news to me! Her measurements have improved drastically over just a few months, and she is doing so much better with therapy. But I don't want to regret taking her out of the helmet too soon if it could have helped her more. Does that make sense? Anyway, let me know what you think if you have time. Thanks, Amy, mommy to Chloe, 13-month-old right tort/left plagio
Guest guest
Hi Amy, I don't think it's really possible to judge how much correction she has received based on the pictures you posted b/c they weren't taken from the same angle. The before birds eye view is too much off to the side to see where she really started. In your after birds eye, she still definitely has a protruding area on her right side. It's hard to tell how much is her head and how much is shadow, but it looks to me based on these pictures that she still really needs some rounding. Lots can happen in 4 weeks, so hopefully it is closer to that than the original estimate of time! 9 months seems like a long time anyway, much longer than average. , mom to Hannah (DOCgrad) and Jack (DOCbanded) Cape Cod, Ma http://hannahsnoggin.typepad.com > > Hi, everyone! Guest guest
, I did the best I could to take the pictures at the same angles, but it's pretty difficult with a wiggly baby and trying to take pictures quickly. Oh well. I guess I shouldn't have posted this and asked because now I'm upset about all your negative comments. Thanks anyway. > > > > Hi, everyone! Guest guest
Sorry my comments upset you. I didn't mean for that at all, just meant for you to understand that it's hard to accurately compare pictures taken from different angles. Pictures (and measurements) are very subjective, they do not and can not tell the whole story. You are the one who has seen her progress in person and if you're seeing positive change, that's what matters. I was just telling you what the photo appeared to show, but that with shadows, etc, it's very difficult to compare. I tried giving you my opinion on her current shape like you asked, but had to explain that it was hard from just that one picture. And yes, getting good accurate pictures is very challenging! I took like two dozen the other night trying to put that collage together for Jack. Anyway, sorry again you were upset by my post! > > > > > > Hi, everyone!
