I think we should write to people magazine about all of our positive experiences with Dr. Aceves. One of the patients they mentioned had a band place in Mexico (not by dr. aceves) and it was wrong. I think people should know the good side as well as the bad. But even though I haven't had surgery yet, I was thinking the same thing as you. How about all the people who have had a good experience in Mexico, (with Dr. A) call or write a news cast and tell them, (they probably won't put the good stuff on the network, because then what would happen, if people knew you could get affordable and great service in Mexico, then that would be alot of money lost in the US, huh). Anyways, the article did say that several people have successful surgery in Mexico, but there are risk. Just like anywhere. But, even if I don't ever get that low, I have improved my health and well being 100% already and am loving every minute of where I'm at now -- and I do have a good level of self-esteem! Which I will add to this site, I am suppose to get the internet at home today. I looked at that photo and just could not believe that I use to be that big. For some reason I fooled myself into thinking I have not really lost that much weight, I guess it is because I look at myself everyday in the mirror. I am so excited I can't wait to loose more. I've been an " upfront " person at church, have worked for some top executives, have a loving husband and family, not much in the way of negative/critical people in my life, etc. ... and guess I just managed to suppress in my own head what I really looked like and what I was doing to my body. When I broke my ankle in May 2004 I finally came to realize that at age 55 I better get ahold of the weight issue before my health went totally to pot. Things are looking brighter all the time. I plan to have the lap band surgery sometime early in the near future in 2006 as soon as I get my credit score raised to where I can obtain a loan for the procedure.
