I drank lots of low fat soups, ate non fat yoghurts and fruches. I was conscious to keep things as low fat and low calorie as possible. I made many of soups at home as these are even lower than the bought variety...although many of these are good as well. Check out the OSSG cookbook for recipies. With imagintion, the liquid diet can be very satisfying and really speed up initial weight loss. PS I also add a fibre supplement to my smoothies and drinks. I buy a type that dissolves completely clear and tasteless. You can even put it in your coffee!!. PS 2. For a treat, go to a really nice cafe and have a skinny cuppucino!! Guest guest
Steph: My doctor had me on liquids for 6 days...period. He felt his patients need to adjust to their new way of eating immediately and not toil thru a liquid diet. Most don't agree with that, but considering I've lost 47 pounds in 4 monthes, I'd say it was OK!! Success=Hope for the Best, Prepare for the Worst. Guest guest
Hi Steph, If you are going to have a Swedish Band implanted, then it is true. I had to do the same thing. It wasn't too hard, because I followed the instructions very carefully. And yes, I did lose a lot of weight very quickly during that first month which gave me an enormous boost to " be good " during the following weeks If you are going to have a Lapband, things are different apparently. Barbara (Brioletta) the dreaded liquid diet The information booklet i have from my surgeon indicates that after the placement of the band I will not be able to eat anything tha I can't sip through a straw for a MONTH! Is that true? Also, did a lot of you lose a lot of weight because of that? I'm really curious about it. Thanks again, Steph. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
