Guest guest
: It could very well just be one of your lymph nodes fighting off some spirochetes. Your doctor is wise to have the mammogram done just the same and I can tell you, the mammogram is a piece of cake. Don't worry about it ahead of time. We'll all be thinking of you and waiting to hear. Think positive thoughts. Many of us Lymies get those underarm lumps and they go away, so plan on it being that until you find out differently. You have a huge support group here. (MI)

Guest guest
A few weeks ago I developed a MAJOR swollen gland under my arm. It goes down and then gets swollen again. It's palpable and very tender. I've never had one that bad before so I'm pretty sure it's related to the antibiotics (body's way of getting rid of toxins) but I'll have my doctor check it out. Obviously that doesn't mean that yours is a swollen gland, but it could be. I THINK that if it hurts, it's a swollen gland and if it doesn't, it's something else. But as you know, the vast majority of breast lumps in young women are benign. Hope that helps, beth infected w/ Bb in 1984 in California Undiagnosed bullseye rash Low grade symptoms through 98 Late neuro symptoms 1/99 Diagnosed 8/99 No ELISA, Western Blot equivocal w/ 4 out of 5 Bb specific bands positive or equivocal indicative of OLD infection Abx's: 6 wks oral doxy, 8 wks IV Rocephin, Rocephin ongoing w/ Flagyl Live in San Francisco [Lyme-aid] lump > From: Prinny328@... > > I know we were justs talking about this... Guest guest
I justs want to thank everyone for there replys..... My mom got me in at Monmouth Medical Breasts Center today.. My mom left work to take me... They didn't want to give me a mannagram causes of my age (26) and they said that my breasts tissue would be hard to determine on a mamma at a young age. The doctor there wanted to bring me in for an exam. He examed me and said that mass my doc was feeling is a swollen and inflamed ligament.... I AM SO RELIEVED!!!!!!!!!! That's why it is so tender.... Thank you for everything... This group is the bests!!!!!!! A group of caring, warm, intellgent people Thanks again,
Guest guest
, I don't remember if I responded to your post before or not, so please accept my apology if this is a repeat. But I had a breast lump a few months after starting treatment for Lyme and it didn't hurt, but was very big, and came up suddenly. I know because I do routine self exams. Anyway they couldn't tell for sure on the sonogram or mammogram so I had it surgically removed and biopsies, and it turned out to be a " reactive Lymph node " . I think it was either from all the toxins released from dying Bb or just the cysts clogging the lymph node. Wish I knew more at the time about Lyme so I could ask them to culture it for Bb. Anyway, the good news is that the surgeon and my LLMD and Hematologist all agreed it was nothing to worry about. Good luck - with Lyme it could be so many things, it it really plays havoc with or lymph node system and glands. Good luck. Guest guest
Hi , Just wanted you to know that you're in my thoughts. I was hoping you would write back saying that they found out it was a benign cyst or something, that wasn't at all dangerous, and that now you had nothing more to worry about as far as the lump was concerned. I guess it didn't turn out that way though. What good is the report to the doctor going to do, if he didn't even look at the right place? That reminds me of the horror stories you read about when someone goes in for surgery on their left foot and the doctors operate on the right foot, instead! So now what? Call the doctor. Tell him what happened. You'll need another ultrasound, at the very least. It sounds like everybody has been majorly stressed out over this. And that kind of stress definitely isn't good for you. It's true, what they say, that we only hurt the ones we love. It's so hard to be in the middle, with this kind of stuff going on on both sides. I hope everything will quiet down soon. Take Care, Georgina i had the ultrasound today, and know absolutely nothing more than before. now, they take a couple of days to write some report for the doc and then they call me. all they guy could say was he didnt really see it, which didnt shock me since he never looked where the lump was in the first place. now to make things even better, my boyfriend/fiance and mother have gone at it and now im supposed to pack my crap and get out. could things get any better these days? my stomach has gone crazy, i feel like throwing up and my heads been splitting all day.Respectfully, E. Guest guest
My son has been in his starband for about two months now, and all is going well except that we found a cyst-like lump on the back of his head (same area as the flat spot). There is no redness or irritation as far as I can tell, and it doesn't seem to be tender either. Has anyone had this same experience? We called the orthotist and are going in today, but she said this sounded unusual.
Guest guest
Is it a cyst-like lump? Or more like a goose egg lump? I ask because my son has two of them but they're more like goose egg type lumps you'd get if you smacked your head on something. We have an appointment with the ortho on Friday, I am planning to ask then. Guest guest
We just noticed a pea (or slightly bigger) sized lump on the back of his head on his tort side. It was painful to him when we touched it. I of course freake out right away. I called the pediatrician he said it is a lymphnode, I took him to my GP because I don't really trust our ped all that much and he felt it and said it was a lymphnode as well. It is still there 2 months later. I guess we'll see when he gets his MRI what it really is. Hopefully it is just a lymphnode.
