Guest guest
hi guys!! Gosh, now I bootup my puter and I have 15 to 20 messages!!! How we've grown! First, regarding liquid diets: please keep in mind I did jello, broth and hot tea for 4 days...period. Then on to soft proteins such as cottage cheese, mashed potatos, etc. My doctor has a 100% success rate thus far, with only one band slippage due to food poisoning during the patient's second week post-op...not the doc's fault. I've lost 46 lbs. since 5/19/98. Second, regarding vitamins: take them, take them, take them. Our body does not " store " vitamins, just fat. Just like it doesn't store muscle, you use it or lose it. My doc says a good multivitamin every single day unless you get constipated, then cut back to every other day or whatever your body requires. As far as the food pyramid, eat sensibly, always consuming your proteins first, then leafy green and other veggies, then liquids, then if there's still room eat those blasted carbs we all crave so badly. For eating out, ask for the children's plate. You're not asking for something for nothing, like they'll treat you. You are merely asking for a much smaller meal than normal, you have that right. I've been using this since May (4 months) " I'd like just the child's meal please, I've just had abdominal surgery and can't eat like I used to " . Once I had to tell a manager, " look, I just had my guts cut into and I can't eat like a horse right now " . I've never been refused. If I were, I'd tell them, if I can't have the child's plate, I'll eat elsewhere, and I definately would. Got to run. Success=Hope for the Best, Prepare for the Worst.
