I had to stop taking Tikosyn because of breakthrough AF. I did not need to

be hospitalized for stopping, but I had to wait several days (3 or 4) to let it

all wash out of my system to get ready to be admitted for amiodarone loading.

The tikosyn worked wonderfully for many months, (no side effects--just the

rigorous dosing schedule), however the stress of breast cancer surgeries pushed

me over the edge and I couldn't take it any more. The amiodarone 200mg has

worked relatively well--just a few breakthroughs--however it lowered my heart

rate to 40 during the day and 30 at night. Had a pacemaker implanted and now I

feel better than I have in a long, long, time.
