Freezing Hearts Back Into Rhythm

According to the American Heart Association, more than 2 million Americans have

atrial fibrillation. For those who have the disorder, the two upper chambers of

the heart quiver instead of beating effectively. Blood is not completely pumped

out of the chambers and can form pools, putting those with atrial fibrillation

at risk of blood clots and strokes. Almost 15 percent of all strokes are related

to atrial fibrillation.
