Guest guest
I too am in a support group with her, and can let you know when I see her. I won't see her this week because I have to go to Fremont and will leave to do that on Thursday, the day of the meeting. I think that, at some point, most of us will move on and that it's meant to be that way. As far as giving back is concerned, my experience of the group has been that we all give to each other throughout the process. I really hope that there will come a time when I have more to do than spend time at my computer reading email, I probably won't have time for a lot of my lists then either, just as doesn't now. Guest guest
You know I agree that eventually we all will depart from this group...its natural. However, I guess I was just shocked because when she left (and I know its her choice to leave) she was a new post op, not even three months out. I suppose I was thinking about maybe a year she would hang around. Thats all. I suppose whatever works for you. I just miss her thats all. Guest guest
I know you must, she was your twin! Are the two of you in touch on a personal level, aside from the groups? From something she said at a meeting where I was, I have the feeling that she associates much time spent at thte computer with those days when she felt isolated due to her morbid obesity. Guest guest
No we don't talk any more. I emailed her last to check on her and that is when she told me what she told me about her leaving. She said she would keep in touch but she has not and I don't want to feel like I am begging anyone to stay around me. I am happy for her though. I asked about our apt. comming up on May 12th since we were in the 6 week apt. together and she never responded. So, I took that to mean that she has started a fresh and just like the group, she was saying goodbye to me to. Nonetheless, I wish her the best. Guest guest
hello After being in here in this group for I dont even know how long now, I have seen lots of people come and go, so needy with the wonder of it all , and that after all is said and done, their needs change and they drift away, and thats ok, but sometimes i wonder how a certain person is, I have wondered also about ..................and some others who left. It is a chore to go through all the email and if you are in a once a week group and a once a month group I can see where the posting could take up your time and if you are trying to be more active than sedentary going to a meeting would be better, of course we all wish her the best, if we still do a picnic in sept maybe we could email her to invite her to it. I know her surgery was close to mine too as well as Pams and one other gal, whos name I am drawing a blank on............she was just after me and recooperated at her daughters.........................anyways, i am thankful for everyone in here and just wanted to say that ColleenPamela A Marsh wrote: No we don't talk any more. Guest guest
Yes. I do live across the street from , but I don't have much contact with her. I kind of think it's because we have different tastes, and she acts way younger than me (I think I'm 10 years older than her, I'm such an old fuddy duddy! LOL). I'm not criticizing; she does seem to be living her life in the fullest. Even when I see her at the weekly support meetings, she has different friends; and she doesn't talk to me much. Plus, I missed last week's meeting and I'll probably miss tomorrow night's meeting. They're meeting at a restaurant this week, and I don't get a lot out of those meetings. Anyways, that's why I don't have any news about her. --Sandi > > Hi... > > > > Does anyone know how is doing? Unless I have > > missed posts, I > > don't recall reading ones from her lately. Guest guest
I think we heard from her, when she got back from her daughter's, and she said she was okay, but not since then. As far as the correct spelling of her name is concerned, I never looked so don't know.
