I had all those listed as codes, but your suggestion of using 277.8, metabolic disease, is excellent, since mito myopathy does indeed suggest only muscle involvement. Dealing with insurance companies demands having to be like an Inspector Clouseau, but without the klutziness! Which reminds me (and I know I said this before) that when we lived in western Massachusetts there was a local surgeon named Dr. Klutz. I never had reason to consult with him.... Thanks. S.
