Guest guest
: Ask away...! And, remember, there are NO stupid questions when learning about autism interventions that might help your child!! AIT stands for " Auditory Integration Therapy. " There are a few different methods of this, the most common being the Berard method and the Tomatis method. In short, this therapy is used to help children who have auditory processing and speech problems and involves " retraining " the brain to recognize and process sounds and words better and faster. I have not done this therapy with my child, but I understand from others who have that it involves a series of sessions (like every day for 2 weeks) where the child wears headphones and listens to certain tones, etc. I also understand that this therapy is generally not used with children under the age of 4 or 5, since the littler ones are usually not able to comply with the requirements of the process. Hope this helps. Anyone have a helpful website for more info. on this for ???
