And his six month check up went really well. His doctor says he's

very advanced for his age, especially verbally, lol. did I tell you

he said his first word the other day? He said Mama and I was

thrilled! He weighs 18lbs 9.6oz, 26.5 " long. He took his shots like

a champ. I told his doctor about his microtia and atresia. They'd

never seen anything like it before. Strange, hmmm? We did get a

'prescription' for a renal ultrasound, so I want to get that done

really soon. We are going to see a specialist at Dartmouth as soon

as we can. We also picked up his cat scan film today. We want to

keep them, but the girl at the hospital said to return them at our

earliest convenience. Why do we need to return them? We're the ones

who need them. I don't understand why we'd need to bring them back.

Will we get in trouble if we keep them? We want to send them to our

Dartmouth specialist to read. Otherwise, we don't see our NY

specialist, Dr. Mouzakes, until January 23rd!!! I can't wait that

long! So what do you think?

Thanks,

Crystal

Glad to hear he had a great appointment! As for the films, I'd keep them until they call you ;o)....technically, I think they are yours anyway, not sure why the hospital would want them returned.

We had ' 6-month on Tuesday and he weighed a whopping 24.5 lbs and 29 inches. He's still not putting any weight on his legs so the dr. is a little concerned about this. We'll be seeing an Occupational Therapist for this soon.

Christie,

Please let me know what the therapists/doctors say about not

bearing weight on his legs. My daugher (bilateral atresia

microtia also) is 14 months and just starting to, when manipulated,

to bear any weight on her legs (or arms). She has been seeing a

physical therapist, but no one thinks there is any physical reason

for this. Her fine motor skills are excellent. I have a doctor's

appointment later today, hoping she can give a diagnosis or refer us

to a specialist. Thanks.

Regards,

Lori

Christie,

Thanks, I hope everything goes well with the occupational therapist.

Wow, sounds like is a growing healthy boy :) I don't know

why the hospital would want those films back either. What are they

going to do with them ? So, for right now I think they're going to

stay right where they are until we can get them to our DArtmouth

specialist.

Thanks,

Crystal
