Guest guest
I had a blast at Fun Day today!!!!!!!!!!!! I got to see Melody, Helen and K. It was great! Yesterday was such a nice, warm day. Today started out chilly and wet. It got colder as the day wore on. It is 43 degrees now! That is very cold for the Valley. It may even freeze here tonight. Yikes! I hope it doesn't hurt any crops. Melody was Kay's " assitant " . The whole day went unbelievably smoothly. We started on time, ate lunch on time and finished on time. I EARNED A SLIM BAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot tell you how proud I am of that! I didn't feel like cooking when I got home, so had hubby take me out to eat. Our daughter and her family joined us. I proudly wore my SLIM (Sincere Losers Inspire Me) bar. The 6 year old asked me why I was wearing " that name tag " since she knew it didn't spell my name. I told her what it was for and she was impressed and so was the rest of the family. That's a good feeling. I am definitely aiming to get the dangles that go with it. Isn't it amazing what a cheap little piece of plastic means to people? It isn't the plastic, it's what it stands for. I was so happy and sooooooooo proud to get it. I'll post a picture later. Or maybe Melody will beat me to it. I have my dh downloading the pictures off the camera right now. Everytime I learn how to use the software for a camera, he goes and buys another one and it has a new program or a new update to learn. I quit trying to learn those new programs a couple of years ago and just depend on him to do it for me now. That's the way it should be anyway, right? Him serving me????????????? LOL. I very dutifully turned in my mile walking report to Kay when I registered my chapter for Fun Day. I never dreamed Kay would announce OUT LOUD to the WHOLE audience how many miles we had walked. Mine was a pitiful few. One lady had walked nearly 800 miles! And there were my pitiful, sad little miles. I didn't know we could include swimming and biking miles or mine would have been a little better. I learned something useful today. Kay passed out papers with the letters of the alphabet on them and we had to make up something that pertained to TOPS or losing weight. Wouldn't you know our fearless leader (Melody) had an exercise related sentence for each and every letter of the alphabet? Really! I finally looked at my paper and the ONLY one exercise related was something about a jump rope. Haha! Shows where my mind is...or isn't. Melody gave me a cute little stuffed crab to remind me to " not be so crabby about exercise " ! Ha! It ain't gonna work, is it W????????? Helen gave me a beautiful mug with the Canadian national anthem in English on one side and French on the other. She also gave me a Royal Canadian Mounted Police pin. Very nice! I told her I didn't drink coffee, but that I'd drink hot chocolate made from Splenda in it. Thanks again Helen! There weren't many baskets to be raffled this year, but the ones that were there were fantastic! The costumes were great. We have a lot of talented people in TOPS. I'm sure I'll write more later when I can think of other things to tell you about. It was truly a fun Fun Day! Thanks for coming down Melody!
