Guest guest
I am not entirely sure if this information is correct but I was told that its better to try and hold off on the boosters until after age 5 or 6 and more language is acquired. Its supposed to be better if you really give the kids bodies time to recover from the "siege" they got at 15 months. I recommend doing the titers with a good allergist/immunologist. I don't use the pediatrician because I want an unbiased assessment. (Basically just the facts!). I use Dr. Perrin out of St. Joes. He was recommended to me by Dr. Mallik last year. I brought asked him to do the titers and fragile X and he asked me why I wanted it and gave me no arguments. She was immune to everything and we sent the report to the school. We will be going again next Month for the 2001-2002 school year. It's hard making her go through the blood test but definitely the lesser of the two evils. Its really interesting. I wonder how many children (Neurotypical), would really need those boosters at age 5? No one usually goes for titers. They never do studies on "normal" children and if they have their immunities still in tact at that age. There is a real argument for over vaccinating. Why do it if they don't need it. My answer is drug companies like to make money. I would love to see a study of nonautistic childrens titers levels. I wonder if I ever will. Probably not.
