Guest guest
Hi, everyone - I just got my Tanita body fat/weight scale today. Of course, I had to try it out. I'm at 282 now (down from 307 before surgery about 5 weeks ago). I was just amazed because, although I feel somewhat lighter, for some reason I still have this mental image of myself as not losing weight... I guess I'm adjusting to my new body image day by day and not really seeing major differences? It could also be because I've started becoming quite tired in the past week. I was on a post-anesthesia high or something the first three weeks - I couldn't believe it! Now, perhaps because I'm doing more, I get tired and just don't have the energy I did at 1, 2, 3 weeks post-op! Now, does that sound WEIRD or what? Has this happened to anyone else? I also don't have an appetite at all --- I have to force myself to eat. I didn't have any problems immediately post-op, but now I'm just not interested in food at all. It doesn't make me sick or anything - just bores me. LOL Other than that, I'm feeling great. I haven't had any knee/joint/back pains or spastic colon episodes... I do feel lighter but more tired than before. All the best, laparoscopic BPD/DS with gallbladder removal Dr. Gagner/Dr. Quinn assisting/Mt. Guest guest
Not only does this not sound weird to me, it describes me. I'm going into my 5th week and I have lost 22 pounds. I don't really " feel " thinner, although I can see it in my face. Luckily, when I was a pre-op, I noticed several people who came home on a high and then things got a little more yucky at 3 weeks. The same happened to me, but I knew from other's posts that it was normal for some of us. I think another 4 weeks and I'll be feeling much better. My stomach is starting to accept more protein foods but I am still sleeping 9-10 hours a night. I'm not working so I just goof off most days and lay down ever so often. I know as soon as I loose my next 10 pounds I will really start to fell thinner. I gained 13 pounds the last 2 months before I had surgery, so that's part of my problem. I am just now under what I weighed last summer. By the time we are at 4 months, we will be new people. Keep the faith!
