Guest guest
Just a piece of additional information to add to Barbara's message. I stopped the Glucophage yesterday because I had a terrible reaction to it on Wednesday and Thursday got worse even though I only took 1/2 the dose prescribed. The endocrinologist and I both agree that it had the ear markings of lactic acidosis problem even though I didn't take my self to the ER. I probably should have. So she started me today on Glyburide at 1/4 the dose I tried last December that caused my sugar to drop drastically. Well.. guess what. The same thing happened today on the 1/4 dose so tomorrow I'll be taking half of that. We are trying to stay with generic because I have already blown the cap for my name brand meds this year but my guess is that I'll have to find something else and I expect a reaction tomorrow to the Glyburide. One thing good though is that my endocrinologist is on call this weekend if another problem arises. Maybe I'll end up trying the Prandin, Barbara. We'll just have to see. I was doing well on Avandia but had a severe problem with water retention and weight gain so we are trying to stay away from that. Has anyone else had these problems with Avandia? HELP...
