Guest guest
Hi AnnMarie, Sorry you are having a bad night. I wonder if you could be having a reaction to the change in meds? Also, do you have a glucose meter at home to check your blood glucose? IF not, I would definitely call your primary care doctor and speak to whoever is on call. When you explain your symptoms, they can make the decision about whether to go to the ER or not. Good luck, hope it gets straightened out very quickly. Wish I had more to offer. Hopefully someone else here will.. :-) Adam > Hi all, > Im not sure what to do. I have been having a lot of problems with my> free insulin levels lately> and the endo. has said I am now prediabetic. Guest guest
I am not sure about how to tell what is dangerous, but why are you taking glucophage? I know one other person on one of the lists was taking it but it says in the literature it causes lactic acidosis!! Prandin worked well for me and you take it before each meal. My labs have always been in the 200-400 for blood sugars. The blood sugar goes up when I do any type of physical activity, even walking across the room. I proved that by wearing a glucometer for 3 days 24 hours a day. Now I am on the insulin pump which I get a little insulin each hour and can increase it slightly if I know I am going shopping or something. The past 4 weeks my blood sugars have ranged from 80 to 180 with only a few times like 250 and 350 when I did not give myself the extra insulin, I was sick, or the insertion site was not in correctly. Insurance covered the pump except for $285.00 Yesterday when I went to my gp to check in with her she said " Doesn't it feel good to have it proven that what you were telling the endocronologist about your blood sugars going up when you exercised come true? I had fired the endocronologist because she did not believe me that my blood sugars went up when I exercised. Anyway, I would stop the glucophage if not immediately, cut down the dosage and find an alternative. Janet Sample HELP... Having a really rough night > Hi all, > Im not sure what to do.
