Guest guest
Hi Pam, feeling pretty well. I will go today to spend time with some friends who I've know for years, and I can't wait. The only complaint I have is that I'm constipated, and though I took laxatives and stool softeners last night, they haven't worked much. Maybe I don't have enough activity. Also had an insulin reaction last night, and had to eat a little of my husband's strawberry cake to snap me out of it. Was worried about dumping, but it didn't happen. Of course I didn't eat much, just enough to get rid of the reaction. I had stopped in sulin for a couple of days, but I didn't like my readings so went back. Meanwhile on a more positive note, Doctor Dutta said that I could use my elliptical, in response to a question that I'd left on his machine, so I started doing that yesterday. Weight is still at eight pounds, but I am pleased that I am having to take less medication for the diabetes. LaWanda At 10:36 AM 4/21/05, you wrote: >Thanks LaWanda :>) > >How are you feeling? Guest guest
Glad to hear things are going well for you. I am sure you will enjoy spending time with your friends. As for the constipation, experienced that and when I went back to for my two week post op apt., Dr. Park explained that I was not constipated rather the stool was just soft and that there was nothing in my system to come out since I had been on the liquid stuff. I think about every 6 or 7 days I would go but not much. It was not until I got advanced to Stage III food that I did get constipated. So far, I just drink a lot of extra water and the sugar free popcycles seem to do someting because it works like the stool softner for me. I hardly have them but every now and then, maybe twice a month I will have one. Don't worry about the weight, it will come off and you will be braggig on here as we all do. Sorry to hear about the insulin reaction. Maybe they can adjust your dosage when you see your doctor. Hopefully you will be taken off permanently. I usually have normal readings but if I have crackers too often, I notice a spike in my sugar levels. It will go from like 75 to 134 but then right back down so I don't worry. Okay honey, take care and can't wait to hear more about your story. Guest guest
Thanks for your post, Pam. It is my hope too that they will take me off all the blood sugar meds permanently too, and when I first came home I thought I was going to get off insulin. For a couple of days my readings were 103 and 110, much lower than they'd been in the hospital, but then they started to go back up. Nothing had changed in my eating, just my body saying what, I guess. Thanks for the info about the constipation too.
