Phyllis - Are you doing stool softeners? It should help make it easier to go.

Hi Deb, I am also a nurse, and this is what my gastroenterologist orders for

the prep for the very reason that it DOES a good job and people will be

compliant. There are very few people that are compliant with a gallon of

golytely. Actually since the RNY I think I will need the Fleets phospho plus

dynamite for my next prep prior to a colonoscopy! man! everyone told me I would

have diarrhea. Never having been blessed with children, this is the closes I can

come to thinking I am possibly giving birth once a week! LOL

The nondairy creamer I use says " Sugars O g " .

- so far I haven't had any luck finding a 0 gram of sugar nondairy

creamer. What brand do you use and where do you buy it?

Thanks,

Rose

Protein shakes are absorbable protein.

Yogurt & baby food meats are sugars, and eggs--they're just calories to me.

They might have a little food value, might not. Your pouch space, so spend it

wisely

Re: Re: Protein Shakes

I would like to hear what you all think about the difference between protein

shakes, and yogurt or aby food meats or eggs as protein sources that are soft

foods.

The protein in shakes is the best absorbed by us, that is whey protein. The

protein in food is only partially absorbed depending on our surgery type and the

length of bypass. That is why it is so important to supplement with at least 2

shakes a day so we get the 60 gram minimum in. If you are distal that means you

need even more.
