OH NO *gasp* you need lab work done a lot more often like every six

months for life .At first more than that bless your heart I will send you

a pate at the bottom of labs that (Vitalady) suggested and I took

these labs to my Dr and he said great no problem .

Not to be construed as medical advice, this list includes labs we have had

performed as gastric bypass patients

* comprehensive metabolic profile (sodium, potassium, chloride,

glucose,BUN, creatinine, calcium, total protein, albumin, total bilirubin,

alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase)

* lipid profile (cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, chol/HDL ratio)

* ALT (SPGT)

* GGT

* LDH

* phosphorous - inorganic

* uric acid

* hemogram with platelets

* B-12 & folate

* iron, TIBC, % sat

* vitamin A & D (25-hydroxy)

* thyroid panel (T3U, T4, FTI, TSH)

* zinc

* magnesium

* ferritin

* serum intact PTH

DIAGNOSIS: 579.3 post-surgical malabsorption

269.2 hypovitaminosis

244.9 hypothryoidism

- thank you so much for this list. I guess I have to rely on

my PCP to run these tests since my wls doesn't have a post-op plan.

Now I just have to pray that my insurance will cover these tests

every 6 months...
