Guest guest
What is tympanoplasty? Just when I thought I just about knew it all...........;o) Thinking of you and your family and sending hugs. Hope everyone stays safe. Christie hiya christie it's an eardrum (tympanum) reconstruction. not your average deal... in atresia repair, the ossicles (little bones: incus malleus stapes/anvil hammer stirrup) may be fused together, so the doc will free them up to freely vibrate against each other (and the stapes against the inside of the eardrum) to conduct the sound to the ace nerve (auditory). (sometimes they may be absent and prosthetic parts will be used- or misshapen or malformed and they will need to be repaired...) THEN he will work backwards and do the tympanoplasty and THEN still working backwards, the canalplastry. i told ya it was tricky... thank u for your prayers and good wishes...everyones well for now (we just got back from jerusalem) and one son is coming with his family in a couple of weeks to visit us..we hope to get the other one back in march..it's shuttle diplomacy and we're nervous about the orders to put gasmasks on the kids, but...God cares. jack
