Miss B,

I love your name. anyway. I had mine lap.

One of the surgeons at our center was the surgeon who pioneered lapriscopic

gallbladder so he was certainly gifted in the use of the lapriscopic tools.

They both spent the recommended hours of training with the Dr.'s of Carnie

.

I personally was glad I could have it done lap as I would not have near the

incision cutting through muscle and not near the scar tissue involvment..

However with that said...Several of the people in our support group have had

open and it really is a personal choice. Some were to obese to have lap as an

option.

They usually get their gall bladder taken out which I think is a nice advantage

with an open procedure.

There are pros and cons with both. It needs to be your choice of whether you

want a lap procedure bad enough to wait...or if open is all right with you than

go for it.

Good luck on your decision and what ever you choose will be the right one for

you and that is what is important because we are all so different on this

journey.

The only perfect place is heaven!
