Guest guest
>.I recommend reading Dr Atkins book. Everyones carb set point is different. Those of use with hypoT have a very low set point most of the time. <, I have this book, and while it is a great diet for some, I got very sick on it. I did manage to lose about 20 pounds over the course of four months, but my hair was falling out and my nails were nubs. I had NO energy and my face was horribly broke out. I felt weak! I would recommend any one be very careful with this diet! *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
Why would a high protein diet be high in iodine? Mostly I ate organic meats (mostly beef) cheese and eggs. Low carb milk and ice cream, salad once a week, but mainly meats. I think my problem was low calcium . I have always craved milk. A lot of it! I have always had wonderful bone density and good nails till this diet. I really felt the lack of calcium was dangerous to me. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
Be very careful limiting salt in your diet, and Please if you start having fluid retention or muscle spasms, get a sodium test run! When my BP shot up about 7 years ago, I cut tons of salt out of my diet, I was also on fluid pills which removed even more, and I sweat easily due to no female hormones so more salt loss. For three years I had the muscle spasms in my abdominal area.. NO ONE thought it could be low sodium, but it was. Since I added in sea salt to my diet I have no more fluid retention, or muscle spasms. Artistic Grooming Hurricane, West Virginia --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
I am not cutting salt out of my diet. That would be the last thing I cut, too addicted to the taste LOL. I am not using the iodine salt. I use salt with out iodine. Lunch meat and cheese have plenty of sodium, if not too much. Sodium is important in the diet. I drink a drink called Slim Lite that has sodium in it. It also has Chromium. Very good for weight loss!
