Guest guest
Hi, They have found the defective gene that causes fibroids to be formed. I'm saying, once a fibroid is removed, it's gone. It can't grow back. But you can get a brand new one. Many women here have been talking about their fibroid growing back after surgery. If you have a resection that doesn't get all of the fibroid, it can grow back because it was never completly gone. Studies say that women who have more fibroids and women who have many smaller fibroids tend to have a greater chance to get new fibroids. The earlier you get fibroids the greater it is to get new fibroids too, you have more time. But if you just have 1 or a few large fibroids you have a better chance of never getting a new one after surgery removes that one. Of course you can have your 1 fibroid removed and get another new one but the odds are in your favor that this will never happen. If some women are having resections that are not getting the entire fibroid out, then they may want a myo that will get rid of it once and for all. No one should think that once a fibroid is removed that it can grow back, it can't. What would be the point of surgery? Women with fibroids all have this defective gene but how this gene expresses itself will be different. So you can go from the woman that has one big fibroid and has it removed, never being bothered again to a woman that has 42 fibroids with a greater chance to get new ones after these are removed. Neither has a gurantee. But studies show the woman with the 1 fibroid has a much better chance never to get a new one. Understand?
