Guest guest
Hi ne, Just to give you a little history... developed a fever immediately following the chicken pox and Hep-B vaccines at 12 months old. His fever soared to 105.7 degrees two days later and we needed to rush him to the emergency room. No amount of Tylenol or Advil could bring it down. It was terrifying! They couldn't find anything wrong with him at the E.R. His pediatrician refused and continues to refuse to attribute that reaction to the vaccines. The fever finally came down a week later after we started antibiotics because he eventually developed his first ear infection. I allowed one more vaccine at 15 months old, but have refused all others after regressed again after that vaccine. Even though our pediatrician knows 's history, she still refused to believe he reacted to vaccines. It was just some " strange " coincidence. I am happy (and surprised) to see that they are now more willing to work with new patients on this issue. I hope your relationship turns out to be a good one with them. Guest guest
JoAnne, We use Dr. Stoller at Chestnut Ridge Pediatrics for 's bi-annual check-ups. However, we have seen most of the other doctors in the practice over the years for colds, coughs, etc. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, Dr. Stoller has been very supportive with medical necessity letters and prescriptions for therapy. However, we don't agree on the vaccine issue and probably never will. > >Reply-To: Mosaic-List >To: Mosaic-List >Subject: Re: Vaccine history >Date: Tue, 13 Mar 2001 09:31:08 -0500 > >Oh, , that was must been so scary! Guest guest
, Thanks for sharing your story of your son's unfortunate and obvious vaccine reaction. I have no such solid evidence, but I still think my son was affected. Even though I learned about all this too late (it was after he had turned 5 and had already gotten his boosters) I wanted a new pediatrician who would be a bit more flexible in case I decided to have another child. I guess we'll see if they " put their money where their vaccines are " when it comes to a challenge. I'll keep you posted. ne
