Basal thumb surgery; 6 months to heal?

i had this surgery & it took close to a yr for it to heal completely. but

i'm a pretty good healer, compared to some. it was really frustrating, having

to be in a cast for sooo long (about 2 mo). after having this surgery on both

hands, i notice i have way less strength. like, i could never go bowling

again. that makes me a little sad, cuz we used to have fun doing that every now

&

again. oh well, just another loss to mourn & look ahead to better days. i

surely don't have the pain i had before the surgery. also, i wear ring splints

on both thumbs.
