Guest guest
Hi there - I have some questions reguarding repo. We took our 3 month old some to a ped. on Wednesday and she said his head is positional and will round itself out. She also said in 3 weeks if it gets worse then we are to have a cat scan just to make sure his plates are not closing. She felt a ridge on one side of his head. But she thought that was from the flatness. So we are to keep him on his left side as much as we can. My question is, can this really work. I have showed pictures to others on the board and they say he has brachy/plagio. I have heard repo can work for some kids. So I guess I need some tips on how to make this work. I want to try it if I can. Jakob is not holding his head up by himself yet. Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi ..... Repo can work, but it doesn;t work for everyone. SO if you try and you don't get the results you were hoping for, don't feel like you did it wrong or anything. There are a million things you can do to keep your son off his flat spot. Since he is not holding his head up on his own yet, you can keep him rolled up off the flat side by putting a rolled or folded hand towel underneat his shoulder on the flat side when he is awake. Also make sure he is getting plenty of tummy time. When he is sleeping, you can try to put a rolled towel or receiving blanket in his crib under the fitted crib sheet so that it stays put and can't become unrolled. Or you could try to pin or sew a cloth tube filled with soft stuffing to the back of whatever he is sleeping in, again on the flattened side so that gravity will roll his head over to the rounded side. Figure out how he is resting in your arm when you are feeding him, and if he is bottle fed try feeding him in the other arm. Put anything that could entertain him on the rounded side so that he has to look that way to get any stimulation. Everything that ever happened to my dd while I was repoing her happened on her rounded side. I have an email from you in my inbox and I am going to be emailing you shortly. Good luck and please feel free to ask any questions you have. Becky , repo grad > > Hi there - > > I have some questions reguarding repo.
