Re: any connection between hypo and nerve

damage?

lovin your answer. hopin for the same!

> I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome while very hypo. My

left hand would just literally fall asleep all the time, and I made

an appt with an Neuro. They tested my left wrist, and he told me I

had 'severe damage' that needed to be fixed asap. Then I was

referred to a surgeon. The surgeon told me they did not like to

do 'surgery to correct' carpal tunnel, but they could give me shots

in the wrist? Not in this lifetime unless I'm feeling like I'm

dying was my response. lol.

> I then changed Endo's who recognized how grossly mismanaged I

was. He then starting changing the medication amts which made a ton

of difference. Suddenly, the carpal tunnel is gone? No surgery, no

shots, no nothing? Makes ya wonder just how much some of these so

called 'specialists' know eh? As long as my meds are right for me,

no carpal tunnel. I found that utterly amazing. As well as having

back pain that was so bad, that I thought I had something terribly

wrong with me. An MRI and a consult with a surgeon who came highly

recommended was done, and he told me to get 'more exercise' and eat

less. lol. I found out not long after that about the thyroid

issues. I've been hypoT, then moved to hyperT/Graves, and am now

hypoT again. My back pain and carpal tunnel are the two main things

that go awry when I'm hypo. Those are the two that immediately get

my attention. Will a dr tell you that? No way. But for me, it's

right on the money.
