I was bathing a resident and they are rather combative and aggressive during bathtime, they dont like it at all...anyway, she grabbed my left wrist and twisted it, resulting in a severe sprain. It escalated to what we have now after 14 months. Hi Donna, I am sorry to hear that the injury that should have healed properly escalated into this horrible ordeal. I too have worked with Alzheimer's patients and they can become very aggressive. Even if they were the most even tempered nice people before the disease their entire personalities change due to the nature of the illness. I know that working as an aide can be grueling. I worked as a nurse pre-injury but I was not one of those nurses that looked for someone else to do things. If it had to be done I did it myself. I could not stand the nurses that would not lift a finger to do things and none of the aides could stand working with them. Some people could not do that kind of work because it can get pretty down and dirty and I wont go into detail LOL!!! I think its great that you can work you are a very strong person. I too had an injury that should have just healed but it snowballed into 18 surgeries, months in the hosp and basically destroyed life as I knew it. Its been almost 5 years now. We are all in the same boat and just have to deal with what life has given us and try to make the best of it. I am so happy to have all of you, I don't know what I would do without you all. You take care and enjoy the holidays!! Love Jai
