I used to walk on of our cats until she got to fat to fit in the harness anymore

LOL but, she loved it

walking cats & dogs

our outdoor cat goes on walks with us when we take the dog. we live on

streets with cars, but the cat hugs next to the buildings. he seems to

know how to keep safe, and we keep a tight eye on him. it's only a block

or so but it's great.

the dog would LIKE to chase him but she knows she's expected to behave

properly when on leash. the two of them bring so much joy.

A fat cat is at risk to getting diabetes. I have one myself. A high

protein diet is now often recommended for cats since they are obligate

carnivores and know how to handle carbs even less than we humans do.

All my cats are now on only canned food since all dry foods are high

carb. There are some special dry foods that are higher protein than

normal and I get some of that from the vet to make life easier on the

cat sitters when we travel.
