I wanted to ask you something about Raynard's and RSD...since getting the RSD in both of my arms...my hands have been very warm and even hot...which I have never experienced since I have had raynard's for years now and they were always freezing even in the summer. I know you have the RSD in your lower extremities...do your feet get warm or hot..or do they always stay very cold and freezing? I know my feet are still always cold but the RSDhasn't affected my legs as of yet. Hoping you great days on the beach...Hugs..Ginny

Hi Ginny,

I know with the RSD in my lower extremities I have a lot of temperature variance. Sometimes hot, sometimes cold. You would think with the Raynaud's it would always be cold but not so. RSD is dysfunction of the Autonomic nervous system. The ANS is in control of things that our bodies do without us thinking about, like breathing, heart beating, sweating, etc....it also controls the blood vessels and how they act. When they constrict it impedes blood flow resulting in the limb becoming cold. When the vessels relax the blood flow returns and it becomes warm again. Raynaud's causes constriction of the vessels therefore the limb becomes very cold and blue. The vessels spasm and then the blood returns and it becomes hot and red. With RSD complicating thing the limbs may be hot or cold. It seems that a lot of people with Raynaud's have RSD. I done know of any study of the correlation between the two. Anyone out there know of this? I developed Raynaud's many years before the RSD, I was 18 or 19 when I was diagnosed. I developed RSD in my 30's. How about you? When were you dx with Raynaud's and RSD?

I read about your eyes, my prayers go out to you. I hope and pray it is not MS. My sister has MS and her first symptom was loss of vision in the left eye. She did get the vision back but now is colorblind in that eye.

I am curious about where you live. Do you have big waves in the ocean? There are little to no waves in the gulf. The water is clear and you can see the fish and stingrays swimming. You said about watching the choppy water, I also enjoy a good storm. In the summer it storms every day, in the afternoon the sky becomes black and we have a very powerful thunderstorm. I love it!! The only problem is that I work 3-11 and when the storms come early I would have to leave for work early because everyone would leave the beach and the traffic would be horrible and there is only two ways off of the island. If the bridges went up then it made it even worse. I learned to gauge how early to leave by watching the weather channel as soon as I got up. I was late only one time in 5 years. Do you have a lot of tourists where you live? Are there beaches? What is it like in the winter? Sorry for all of the questions but I am a fan of exploring new areas. Well, I have rambled on enough!!! Please take care, my prayers to you, Love Jai
