Guest guest
Thanks Alice...we are members of Climb who run the National Information and Advice centre for Metabolic Diseases and know about Mito. and deal with adults as well as teenagers and children..they have been tremendous.http://www.niacmd.net/ The neuro sent us to them. I went to our leading neuromuscular centre and had the biopsy from there I was reffered to Metabolic Medicine as over here it appears mito is being classified as metabolic.logical really as our cells dont metabolise/utilise substances correctly.this we have found to be tremendous and the day I was discharged from neuro.care I felt as if a load had been lifted from me !!! Metabolic medicine looks at mito from a different angle..... chuckle....one that we feel very comfortable with and makes us much more positive...the doc only uses other top medics that know about mito. but also know the interactions of organs/hormones within the body and cellular energy deficits....and the effects if you have a deficit/excess..mito is not being classed as neuromuscular here...Europe seems to also be leaning the same way. I think that with so many disease coming under the heading of neuromuscular this division for storage/metabolic etc disorders works well for me and leaves the neuros free for other disorders Could be interesting to see what they find working on this different angle Gillian > > Gillian > > > > I believe you have Muscular Dystrophy Clinics over there.
