Guest guest
I'm self treating, no docs involved. I switched because I still didn't feel well on the cortef, still had a lot of adrenal symptoms. Doing much better on the delta and I plan to wean off slowly when I feel that all of the adrenal problems have been resolved. Guest guest
If this is the case then, why do I still have crashes? I have had issues where like during the summer we went to a water park over the weekend. During the visit at the park I had hypoglycemic episodes which required me to eat something sweet to get over. Then about 3 days afterwards...bit crash. The doctor told me this was because I was using more Cortef than I was putting in (I'm taking 20mg a day already). She said when doing any kind of activity I would need to increase my dose through this. I always wondered if the adrenals are not shut down, then once the body runs out of cortef...why doesn't the adrenals pick up the slack? I also would be interested to talk to someone who got off of this treatment and what they went through. I'm scared about how sick I'm going to get. Especially when the doctors get this look and start shaking their head... saying you will get very ill for 2-3 months. What do they mean by this... I want to know what to expect? They never give you a description... > >Reply-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >To: <NaturalThyroidHormones > >Subject: Re: Lynda...adrenals >Date: Fri, 10 Dec 2004 14:45:52 -0500 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >X-Sender: mdstephenson@... >Received: from n13a.bulk.scd.yahoo.com ([66.94.237.24]) by >mc1-f30.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.211); Fri, 10 Dec 2004 >11:46:09 -0800 >Received: from [66.218.69.1] by n13.bulk.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 10 Dec >2004 19:46:07 -0000 >Received: from [66.218.66.27] by mailer1.bulk.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 10 >Dec 2004 19:46:07 -0000 >Received: (qmail 49496 invoked from network); 10 Dec 2004 19:46:06 -0000 >Received: from unknown (66.218.66.167) by m21.grp.scd.yahoo.com with QMQP; >10 Dec 2004 19:46:06 -0000 >Received: from unknown (HELO out005.verizon.net) (206.46.170.143) by >mta6.grp.scd.yahoo.com with SMTP; 10 Dec 2004 19:46:06 -0000 >Received: from eiygn ([64.222.237.226]) by out005.verizon.net >(InterMail vM.5.01.06.06 201-253-122-0910) with ESMTP >id <20041210194605.KSIO28362.out005.verizon.net@eiygn> for ><NaturalThyroidHormones >; Fri, 10 Dec 2004 >13:46:05 -0600 >X-Message-Info: JGTYoYF78jGpKegLVdZ6DYa7VOulo4rNbarxc2Dzjfo= >X-Yahoo-Newman-Property: groups-email >X-Apparently-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >References: ><018b01c4deee$7c0e6f40$2002a8c0@lynda> >X-MSMail-Priority: Normal >X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1437 >X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1441 >X-Authentication-Info: Submitted using SMTP AUTH at out005.verizon.net from >[64.222.237.226] at Fri, 10 Dec 2004 13:46:05 -0600 >X-eGroups-Remote-IP: 206.46.170.143 >X-Yahoo-Profile: hatten48 >Mailing-List: list NaturalThyroidHormones ; contact >NaturalThyroidHormones-owner >Delivered-To: mailing list NaturalThyroidHormones >Precedence: bulk >List-Unsubscribe: ><mailto:NaturalThyroidHormones-unsubscribe > >Return-Path: >sentto-7991139-42322-1102707967-lacretiamo=hotmail.com@... >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 10 Dec 2004 19:46:09.0557 (UTC) >FILETIME=[E5689450:01C4DEF0] > > >I agree with you Lynda the operative word is in porportion which usually >means physiologic doses which do not suppress the adrenals. They never give you a description... > >Reply-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >To: <NaturalThyroidHormones > >Subject: Re: Lynda...adrenals >Date: Fri, 10 Dec 2004 14:45:52 -0500 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >X-Sender: mdstephenson@... >Received: from n13a.bulk.scd.yahoo.com ([66.94.237.24]) by >mc1-f30.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.211); Fri, 10 Dec 2004 >11:46:09 -0800 >Received: from [66.218.69.1] by n13.bulk.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 10 Dec >2004 19:46:07 -0000 >Received: from [66.218.66.27] by mailer1.bulk.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 10 >Dec 2004 19:46:07 -0000 >Received: (qmail 49496 invoked from network); 10 Dec 2004 19:46:06 -0000 >Received: from unknown (66.218.66.167) by m21.grp.scd.yahoo.com with QMQP; >10 Dec 2004 19:46:06 -0000 >Received: from unknown (HELO out005.verizon.net) (206.46.170.143) by >mta6.grp.scd.yahoo.com with SMTP; 10 Dec 2004 19:46:06 -0000 >Received: from eiygn ([64.222.237.226]) by out005.verizon.net >(InterMail vM.5.01.06.06 201-253-122-0910) with ESMTP >id <20041210194605.KSIO28362.out005.verizon.net@eiygn> for ><NaturalThyroidHormones >; Fri, 10 Dec 2004 >13:46:05 -0600 >X-Message-Info: JGTYoYF78jGpKegLVdZ6DYa7VOulo4rNbarxc2Dzjfo= >X-Yahoo-Newman-Property: groups-email >X-Apparently-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >References: ><018b01c4deee$7c0e6f40$2002a8c0@lynda> >X-MSMail-Priority: Normal >X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1437 >X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1441 >X-Authentication-Info: Submitted using SMTP AUTH at out005.verizon.net from >[64.222.237.226] at Fri, 10 Dec 2004 13:46:05 -0600 >X-eGroups-Remote-IP: 206.46.170.143 >X-Yahoo-Profile: hatten48 >Mailing-List: list NaturalThyroidHormones ; contact >NaturalThyroidHormones-owner >Delivered-To: mailing list NaturalThyroidHormones >Precedence: bulk >List-Unsubscribe: ><mailto:NaturalThyroidHormones-unsubscribe > >Return-Path: >sentto-7991139-42322-1102707967-lacretiamo=hotmail.com@... >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 10 Dec 2004 19:46:09.0557 (UTC) >FILETIME=[E5689450:01C4DEF0] > > >I agree with you Lynda the operative word is in porportion which usually >means physiologic doses which do not suppress the adrenals. Guest guest
It didn't make me feel bad, I just didn't think it was working as well as it should. I had been taking it for nine months and if it was working properly I should have been a lot better than I was. I still had this awful internal shaking. Since I have been on delta I have felt much better. Maybe one med suits some people better. Lynda Re: Lynda...adrenals You said you switched from Cortef... why? Did it make you feel bad and if so, can you describe it? I have been taking it and having up's and downs. I have had hypoglycemic episodes and just plan crashes.
