Anyone using Angel Flights to PHX? Easiest Ground Transpo to Cranial Tech?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has flown or is currently flying to PHX via

Angel Flights? I found out they fly into Deer Valley Airport, and was

wondering what you've found is the best ground transpo? Rental cars or

shuttles? Seems like it should be easy, but with carseats and

all...and I'll be by myself with my twins!!!!!

Also, is anyone flying from Denver to PHX via Angel Flights? Looks

like we'll be starting soon.

We are flying from Manitoba Canada to Chicago. I remeber when we

were trying to figure out how I would get to the clinic once I got

there it was nearly impossible. The taxi's were so expensive that

it almost caused us not to go. We finally found a taxi that went

from the airport to the suburb for a flat rate of $23. The drivers

help me install the carseat and put all the bags in the car or van.

They pick me up out side the terminal and drop me right off at the

clinic front door. It was going to cost way more to rent a car or

take a regular cab. I almost didn't find this service until at the

last minute when I booked our hotel for the fitting appointment and

the hotel reccommended them. Thank goodness. I thought I was going

to have to rent a car and honestly I was quite terrified to drive. I

bungee strap Andre's car seat to his little umbrella stroller and we

get around that way. Not to discourage you but I am assuming with

twins by yourself it is going to be impossible. You're a brave

PHONE: 602/232-2222) i was going to recommend super shuttle but they only go sky harbor. if i can think of anything else ill let you know or if you need more info just let me know =)

Here is a link to the website for Deer Valley Airport.

I haven't been to it, but I don't believe it is large

enough to have rental cars or a shuttle service. You

can call them to find out more info. Someone already

gave you phone numbers for local cab services. It is

about 20 miles from the Cranial Tech office.

Thanks for the tips. Glad you found the cab service for the flat

rate to CT in CHicagoland. I've been trying to figure out the

logistics of travelling with twins, esp. the carseat part. I've

found a carseat carrier that you can wear like a backpack, which

I'll be ordering, and I think I'll use your tip to bungee the other

one to the stroller. I'll report back once I accomplish this feat!

Hi Tricia,

I'm impressed that you're taking this on by yourself with twins.

However since the flight is free (at least i think angel flights are

free) could you take someone to help you? maybe a neighborhood teen

who would do it for a small fee, or a friend or relative? it just

seems like a lot for you to do - at least the first time until you've

got the layout of the airport, travel connections etc. I would meet

you myself if I was in the area :-)

its a car seat that turns into a stroller would be kinda hard to deal with 2 of them though heh.

Hi ,

I've been thinking about how to do this from every possible angle--

from finding a childcare provider, to begging my mother-in-law to

take her 3 months vacation she has saved up and move out here! ha!

Turns out the Angel flight trip from Denver to Phoenix is a two leg

and three day journey--2 days to travel and 1 day for the appt.

Soooo, scratch that option! Looks like I'll have to come up with

some money, and of course, still fly alone with two babies.

I guess a better option is to just stay with my parents in IL and

get band #2 at the same place we started with Band 1. My mom would

be thrilled!

3 days - wholly cow that is a nightmare. I guess that's what you

get for free. Great try. So have you told your mom yet? Will it

be a hardship for you or your hubby for you and the kids to be in IL?

Yes a nightmare it is. I spoke with Angel Flights 3 or 4 times

previously and this never came up. They actually called to schedule

the flight after receiving our paperwork, and that is when it came

up. They provide a great service, but it just is not realistic for

our medical needs.

I'm investigating some other options here in Colorado, so no plans

for me and the kids to stay in IL yet. I did tell my mom the news

and I know she is secretly hoping we come " home " . It would be very

rough on my husband so I'm trying to use it as a last resort.

I'll keep you posted! We have an appt with Hanger Thursday, so I'm

really hoping the orthotist is qualified!

Hi Tricia,

I hope Hanger works for you. I know DOC is supposed to be the best,

but we have a starband partly because it is local and are very please

with Sydney's results so far.
